ACCESSORIES FOR BONDED ANCHORING SYSTEMS
Accessories form an integral part of our bonded anchoring systems. Correct selection and use of mixing nozzles, hole cleaning equipment and injection tools is key, and it will ensure that the installations yield expected performance. Our range of accessories includes mixing nozzles, hole cleaning equipment, injection tools and perforated sleeves.
Mixing nozzles are applied to the outlet of the cartridge. Depending on the application and anchoring resin used, they contain a different number of unique mixing elements that force the resin and the catalyst to mix with each other while travelling past the nozzle. Mixing nozzles provide ease of use for the installer and guarantee accurate mixing ratio.
Note: it is key that correct mixing nozzle, as specified by the manufacturer, is used with bonded anchoring systems at all times. Use of non-approved mixing nozzles may insufficiently mix the components and yield compromised performance.
HOLE CLEANING BRUSHES AND PUMPS
Hole cleaning is an important part of all installations and has a detrimental effect on the performance of the anchorages. A combination of correct diameter brush and compressed air should be used to clean holes. For thorough instructions on hole cleaning refer to the product data sheets.
Injecting resin in deep holes usually presents a challenge to the installers. This is why we specify the use of extension tubing and resin stoppers (also known as piston stoppers) for assistance on the construction site. Extension tubing allows reaching the bottom of the hole before starting injecting the resin, while resin stoppers are designed to prevent air voids being trapped in the hole.
Anchoring in hollow masonry requires the use of perforated sleeves. During installation a sleeve is placed into a hole and it is entirely filled with anchoring resin. Once a fixing is introduced into the sleeve, it drives the resin out through the perforations and into the cavities of the hollow masonry. The cured resin then becomes stronger than the hollow material and locks the fixings from the inside. If properly installed, the substrate will always fail before the resin or the fixing.
